I am a Man Mural

Posted by Lyemium Editorial on Oct 26, 2012
I Am a Man mural located on 14th Street NW in Washington by French street artist JR.

The latest work by French street artists JR coveres an unoccupied building at 14th streets NW with Ernest Withers’s iconic photo of the 1968 Memphis sanitation workers strike. His style usually involves gluing massive black-and-white photographs onto buildings around the world.  JR prints his photos in strips on large-format printers commonly used for architectural blueprints and pieces them together on-site. This particular mural was installed with the permission of the building’s owner, designer and art patron Lori Graham.
