Pieter Brueghel the Elder was a Flemish Renaissance painter and printmaker known for his landscapes and peasant scenes. He is also considered the greatest Flemish painter of the 16^th century and was accepted as a master in the Antwerp painters' guild in 1551.Pieter Brueghel died in Brussels in 1569.
