The total solar eclipse that has come and gone occurring over Svalbard, Norway, Friday March 20. A partial eclipse was visible on Friday, falling on the first day of spring, across parts of Africa, Europe and Asia.
Many professional and amateur astronomers positioned themselves in the Faroe Islands, where the capital city of Torshavn got totality for a full two minutes, beginning just before 09:41 GMT.
