Similar to New York, Berlin has a thriving street art scene. Artists from all over come to show their stuff in popular neighborhoods like Mitte and Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall in the ’80s many where exposed to east Berlin's urban scene. The ones who ventured over saw big bubbly letters, in languages such as: German, English and French. They saw political slogans that reflected the current state of global political affairs.
Berliner Strassenkultur, as it’s called, embraces street art and graffiti which can be defined as the writer’s name, or tag where on some occasions the work may involve a more elaborate art piece. Today, Berlin is still a major hub for street art and urban design; here is just a sample of the amazing work found throughout the streets of Berlin.
