Street artists JR and José Parlá team up to create several portraits of citizens who survived the Cuban Revolution from 1953-1959.
JR's series in Havana Cuba is a part of a much larger series entitled The Wrinkles of the City. Other locations include: Cartegena, Shanghai and Los Angeles.
Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery located in New York will be showing twelve of these portraits in an upcoming exhibition opening May 7 and running till July 12. The Wrinkles of the City, Havana, Cuba, which was commissioned for the 11th Havana Biennial, has been made into a book published by Damiani/Standard Press, as well as a film, which will be on view at the gallery.
