If you are a developer, designer, or just web-savvy HTML5 should be nothing new to you. However, the familiarity with the HTML5 logo may not be as clear.
Today the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) unveiled what they call "a striking visual identity for the open web platform". Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 means that anyone is free to use and reshape the image as much or as drastic as they want. Will 2011 be the year we witness HTML5 T-Shirts?
As always the W3C encourages early adopters to use HTML5 and provide feedback to the W3C HTML Working Group. The new logo comes just four days after the WC3 updated eight HTML5 drafts. There is also an entire page devoted to HTML5 with a simple premise "Build It And They Will Come". Looks like 2011 will be seen as the push for HTML5 lets just see how fast the web can adopt the latest standards.
